The heart and soul behind the OWS movement has been an inspiration to witness. This global movement captures how frustrated we feel about greed and corruption. However, without specific demands and reachable goals, it will be difficult to influence change. Now that the world is watching, let’s streamline our messages and make some productive changes. Here are some specific thoughts from Greedy Lying Bastards:

a. Overturn the Citizen’s United Supreme Court decision and implement campaign finance reform that removes the corporate influence from our elections.

b. Implement a clean energy policy in the U.S. that weans the country off foreign sources of fossil fuels and eventually phases out the use of fossil fuels completely. This policy would allow the investment in successful implementation of alternative energy sources. This would include removing the annual subsidies provided to the oil companies and re-distribute to investments and companies pursuing sustainable energy.

c. Demand specific regulatory oversight of various industries to ensure catastrophes such as the financial crisis and its impacts or the BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill never happen again.
